The ballroom
Whilst always having the scale and beautiful vaulted ceiling, the ballroom was tired and in need of a facelift. To bring this to life , we have introduced the twirls and skips of Victorian design whilst satisfying 21st century needs and expectations.
Old wallpaper has been replaced with decorative, period moulded panelling with beautiful corner appliques to adorn the huge walls of the grand space. Stunning brass wall lights will flank the walls inside the new panelling to add to the opulence of this fantastic event space.
Replacement windows which will retain the Victorian proportions are on one side of the room. These will be dressed with new velvet drapes, the stage area will also be draped in new curtains, framed with new lighting to add a contemporary feel to the space.
A New, Contemporary Design
The grand chandeliers will be restored and re-lamped to work with the new colour changing LED strip lighting in the fantastic original vaulted ceiling. The effects lighting will illuminate the neutral colouring of the wall panelling and ceilings to suit the mood settings of any kind of event for which the space is required.
The floors will be treated to a new contemporary carpet design to act as a backdrop to any event whilst the original sprung dancefloor will be re-polished to cater for those great events.
Whether it’s a wedding, award ceremony, business conference, live entertainment or luxury dinner; The Ballroom at Roker Hotel will be a venue to cater for all, in beautiful and memorable surroundings.
The Lounge
Adjoining The Ballroom is a spacious area welcoming you with a stunning staircase entrance, skylights, cosy booth seating, and a fully stocked bar. With a capacity of 60 our lounge area is the perfect standalone venue for more intimate events or occasions, ot to be used as a separate breakout space for your larger function.
